More About Me

Claire Lewinski is a community organizer and writer. She grew up in the wild, exploring the backcountry of Idaho and studied chemical engineering at Montana State University.

After a series of traumatic concussions completely altered the course of her life, she found herself walking the length of New Zealand’s South Island in the name of recovery. Then she wrote a book about it - I Need a Walk: To Clear My Mind.

She continues to live in Whangarei, New Zealand painting and coaching women’s jiu jitsu. In her free time, she is in the mountains.

Every time I’ve been broken has been an opportunity to rebuild.
